Soundrya Lahari contains a number of slokas pleading to Sri Lalita to help them cure various diseases. In Vedas in her malevolent form Death she is worshiped by the Veda Mantra “mrityave swaha, mrityave swaha” Hail! May this be an oblation made to Mrityu, the maker of Death. This is done with a view to destroy all evils and neglects connected with the person who makes the offering. A worshiper is represented here as offering repeated oblations to the gods who visit the inside of all people and arraign them to the bar of divine justice. The devotee pleads not guilty and deposes that the Self in us did not do anything, is not an agent, or an abettor. So the devotee worships the Deity of Death so that the worshiper may be left in his pure nature as he has now surrendered all his Egos to his Self.

Medicine in the minds of sages,
Which makes them to meditate,
Medicine for controlling king among Rakshasas (Crown Corona Virus),
Medicine which gives life to the three worlds,
Medicine which cures the travails of devotees,
Medicine that cures fear of existence (fear and anxiety),
Medicine that can bring all longevity,
Is the holy medicine of Sri Krishna.
And so, devotees drink it to your fill.
Shiva is a symbol of eternal life. He is also treated as the lord of meditation, having the power of dissolving the entire universe into him. Goddess Parvati is considered to be the first yoga disciple of Lord Shiva. Upon his marriage with Parvati, he shared the secrets of Yoga with her by teaching her 84 yogic asanas or postures. These 84 asana could eradicate all the ill effects in a person’s life and yield auspicious results. These asanas were considered as Raja Yoga and had the capacity of making a person healthy and successful.
The Sūktam has nine mantras praying for long life. The prayer is addressed to various deities such as Brahmā, Śiva, the Sun, and all the celestials who are guardians of the universe.
All mantras/sūktam cannot be used for homam (fire-ritual). Thankfully, Äyuṣya-Sūktam can be/is used in performing ‘Äyuṣya-homam’. It is/can be performed on one’s nakṣatra-birthday. The whole ritual could be – Gaṇapati-Pūjā/homam, Navagraha-homam, Mahā-mṛtyuñjaya-homam, Bhāgya-sūktam, and Äyuṣya-homam’. If four Ṛtviks (Priests) are performing, each may offer 27 oblations to make a total of 108 oblations for ‘Äyuṣya-homam’.

yo brahmā brahmaṇa ujjahāra prāṇaiś-śiraḥ kṛttivāsāḥ-pinākī |
Brahmā (the Creator) was born from the breath (prāṇa) of Brahman. Pinākī (Śiva) attired in elephant skin, and wielding His Pināka (weapon) arose out of His head. I pray to Brahmā, Pinākī (Śiva), and Viṣṇu (Iśāna) for long life by offering ghee as oblation. (1)
vibhrājamānas-śarīr- asya madhyādrocamāno gharmarucirya āgāt |
Agni, who is fiery bright, and who provides warmth (to sustain life), arose from the effulgent chest of Brahman. May Agni release us from the dreadful noose of death (cycle of birth and death). I offer my oblation of ghee. (2)
brahmajyotir brahmapatnīṣu garbhaṃ yamādadhāt pururūpaṃ jayantam |
The radiance of Brahman gave birth to the victorious golden-orbed Sun. May Sun grant us long life. I offer my oblation of ghee to Him--(3)
śriyaṃ-lakṣmīm-- aubalām-aṃbikāṃ-gāṃ ṣaṣṭīṃ ca yām-indrasenetyudāhuḥ |
I offer ghee as oblation to Goddess Lakṣmī, as the embodiment of treasure of knowledge, whose source is Brahman, and who is addressed by six names - Śrī, Lakṣmī, Aubalā, Aṃbikā, Gām, and Indrasenā. May She grant us long life! (4)
dākṣāyaṇyas-sarvayo- nyas-sa yonyas-sahasraśo viśvarūpā virūpāḥ |
I offer ghee as oblation to the divine Gaṇas and their various forms (bahurūpā), so that they remove all obstacles, which come in the way of our long life. May those divine Gaṇas protect our valiant children--(6)
ekaḥ-purustāt ya idaṃ babhūva yato babhūva bhuvanasya gopāḥ |
Brahman who existed all alone (before the creation) brought forth many gods and celestials (the Vasus, the Rudras, the Ädityas, the Maruts, the Sādhyas, the Ṛbhus, Yakṣas, Gandharvas, Pitṛs, Bhṛgus, the Nāgas, the Aṅgirases), to protect and help people in need. I offer ghee as oblation to the Absolute Being, all gods, and celestials and pray for long life. (7 and 8)
